KAITLYN MALINOVSKY Rowing University of San Digeo
Kaitlyn Malinovsky will be attending the University of San Diego for her extreme efforts in rowing. When asked about why she chose the University of San Diego she said, “I choose to attend the University of San Diego because it is a place where I believe I can be successful both academically and athletically. Here, I feel like the two parts of my life could balance and compliment one another. Because it is a smaller school, I can get the hands on education I need to be successful. I also love the location of San Diego because it is a city without being overwhelming, it is next to the beach, and the weather is great all year round. Another reason I love this university is because it is Catholic and will allow me to continue my spiritual journey. All of reason and many more are why I am so excited to be a Torero!” Some of the most inspirational people in her sports career have definitely been here teammates who pushed her to do better everyday. Her inspiration to row at the collegiate level was to compete in a higher level of competition and to continue to improve to see where the career takes her. When we asked about her favorite memory as a Trojan was “rowing on Lake Washington for Head of the Lake. It was incredible to be in a place where rowing is so celebrated and well known. Rowing is immersed in the history and culture of Seattle. It was also my first real travel race, and the conditions of the race course were so different from our home course. It was incredible to see how rowing is recognized in other places.” Good luck Kaitlyn in your journey at USD!
