Oak Ridge wrestlers traveled to Lincoln HS in Stockton on Saturday for one last competition before the road to state begins next week.  This was for the Dual Championships.  They easily handled their first opponent, Rodriguez HS, winning 65-9.

Their 2nd dual was against Elk Grove HS, ranked 29th in California.  Wrestling started at 113 where Mike Remer won 7-3.  Jared Horstman  defeated Jacob Seto (ranked 12th in state) 4-2.  Christian Krider fought hard, but was pinned by Lokahi Tonge?? (ranked 8th in state) at 128.  Mikey Mello (132) won 7-4.  Ricky Mello (138) lost 6-3 to Eric Spence, then Jackson Redhair lost an extremely close match 4-3 to Roger Monroe?, ranked 19th in state.  The team scores at that point were 12-9 in favor of Elk Grove.  Jack Santina lost 9-0, Bobby Mello lost 11-5, and Gabe Guzman won 13-7 (172) and the team scores were 19-12 Elk Grove.  Kaden West came on strong and pinned his opponent, getting Oak Ridge within 1 point (19-18).  At 197, 220 & Hvy, Oak Ridge gave up 18 points in forfeits.  Max McCarver ended the dual with a pin, giving a final score of 24-36 Elk Grove.
